November 20, 2006 Habakkuk 2:1-4, 9-20 Psalm 57 My Thoughts: Those of us who have been given eyes to see and ears to hear must awaken and watch. What is God saying to you about this world He has given us and our place in His Church. Habakkuk had seen what was coming so he cried out to the One True Living God. Israel had been doing what was right in their own eyes off and on for over 700 years and the Sovereign Lord was about to give Israel into their enemy's hand. God had been even strengthening and preparing their enemy to lead them into captivity in Babylon, exactly where they had come from originally. Habakkuk waited for the Lords reply and it came as 5 'woes', but intermixed in all that Israel had done against their God was the assurance and hope that, (1) The just shall live by faith. And (2) Our God is the One True God and He knows the beginning to the end of ALL things. In other words - bring ourselves and our requests before Him in prayer. Then live your life in faith, believing that He will lead you and guide you in the way you should go, even if it feels and looks like captivity. He will deliver you according to His will and purpose. Today's Challenge: Do you think you can trust God with your life today? Let's try. Purpose in your heart to commit yourself to Him. Pray. Now, walk in the way He tells you, not looking to the left nor to the right. Look at Him, not anyone else. He will lead you in the way you should go. It is a walk of faith. That means we often will not see where we are going. We will only see Him. and in Him you can trust and you Must trust. History records that the people of Israel were returned to their home and rebuilt their temple, their walls and the laws in their hearts. Will He not do the same for us????? Prayer: Sovereign Lord, help us to trust You with our lives this day. Lead us in the way we should go to honor You and accomplish Your purpose on the earth. We don't want to do what is right in our own eyes. We want to do Your Will. Your word says You work in us both to will and to do for Your good pleasure (Phil 2:13). Now, Lord Jesus, You desire to present us blameless at Your coming. So do Your sanctifying work in us and we can rejoice because You, who call us is faithful to do it. Hallelujah and Amen Tomorrow's Scripture: Habakkuk 3:1-10 (11-19) and Psalm 54
