>
>November 19,2006 Habakkuk 1:4 (5-11) 12 2:1 Psalm 67
>My Thoughts: As we, the American Christian people elect local leaders and national representatives, like Habakkuk, we cry out to our God for wisdom to elect just leaders. God called Habakkuk to prophecy prior to the poeple of God being taken into captivity. Their leaders and people were no longer listening to their God so God was preparing them for captivity. In a few years they would be taken to Babylon, a very violent and Godless people. Habakkuk was able to read the signs of the time and pray. As in Habakkuks time it appears violence on every front is prevailing and true justice is absent. The laws of the land were and are powerless to bring order. It not only is happening in what is seen, but in the unseen as well. We as believers must choose as Habakkuk did to remember our God. We must repent and return to our God. Bring our requests and petitions boldly, remembering who God is, the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords who knows the beginning and the end of all things. He is just and He is merciful. Be like Habakkuk, a watchman aware of the times, yet in prayer, waiting and watching for the Lord.
>Today's Challenge: The Word of God says, "If My people, who are called by My Name will humble themselves and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land." So today, we as His people pray and He is faithful to respond to our requests according to His Will..
>Prayer: Lord,We like Habakkuk acknowledge that You are God, and there is no other. As we read the times our hearts would faint within us were it not for You. Deliver our nation and the nations of the world from violent men. Bring peace and healing to the families of this nation and the nations of the world. See Your Bride, the Church all over the world and make her spotless. Through Jesus Christ, your Son, Amen.
>Tomorrow's Scripture: Habakkuk 2:1-4, 9-20 and Psalm 57
